Taco salad bowl with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheese, crushed Doritos, and tomatoes in a black bowl, eaten in the car

Taco night isn’t just limited to times you can all eat at your table. It is the ultimate flexible meal that accommodates a variety of taste preferences and schedule needs.

Take that taco salad and put it in a bowl. Everyone builds their own and can eat at the table or take the show on the road.

It is endlessly customizable, which matters when you have choosy eaters. One person loads up on cheese and chips. Another skips the beans and adds extra salsa. Nobody needs a separate dinner.

Start with the base, then let everyone finish it their way.

TACO SALAD BOWL

ALL YOU DO:

1

In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Season with the taco seasoning.

2

Divide the prepared meat, rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes into 4 bowls. Add any of the optional ingredients. Sprinkle with crushed Doritos chips. Serve.

💡

PREP TIP:

If you are making the bowls ahead of time, bring the Doritos in a zippered bag on the side and add them right before eating, so they stay crunchy.

MAKE IT YOURS:

Want a different protein? Swap in steak, chicken, carnitas pork, or even shrimp. The rest of the meal prep stays the same, but it feels like a different meal.
